WTF IS GOING ON?

Masters Tourney & Arsenal Park Grand Opening

posted May 27, 2013, 7:43 PM by Indianapolis Bicycle Polo

That's right!

This Saturday, June 1st, is the Grand Opening of Arsenal Park Polo Courts.  To mark the occasion, we are holding our first tournament of the year, The Masters Tourney.

The idea behind this event is that we wanted to host an event for older players so we made a rule that the combined age of all the players had to be 90 years or more. So, with three players per team, many of the players are going to be over 30 years old.  We have a great roster too.  Players from all over the Midwest and some from PA and MD will be playing.  It is sure to be a great day so please come out and join in the fun.  Games begin at 10:00am.  An after-party will be at the Sinking Ship.

Court Construction Day This Saturday

Come on out to the courts this Saturday to help us build our second court.
Green Bean Delivery is donating all the pallets to finish the framing.  A big thanks to them!
We will meet at 8:30am.  Bring gloves, your favorite beverage, and a truck if you have one.

We will play afterwards.

See you there.

BLACK FRIDAY POLO

posted Nov 21, 2012, 9:04 AM by Indianapolis Bicycle Polo

Screw shopping on Black Friday.  Remember how much it sucked waiting in line F-O-R-E-V-E-R.  Remember how horrible it was when you got so bored, hungry and thirsty not even half way through your shopping that is ruined the rest of the day? You very well know and remember how much you hate standing in line behind a hundred people who are still in their pajamas and should have showered before they left the house.  Was it really worth it?

Have we got a solution for you?  Come to Black Friday Bike Polo at Arsenal Park.  It starts at 10am, which means if you must go shopping early in the morning, you now have an excuse to stop early and spend some quality time with friends outside with some beers.  Bring your shopping buddies too.  It will be magical.

Also, sadly winter polo hours are now in effect and we only have polo on Sundays, except for days like Black Friday.  Check out our calendar and Facebook page for impromptu pick-up dates.

HAVE A HAPPY THANKSGIVING.

...or of you are a limey Brit, "Happy Good Riddance Day" or "Dang, I Sure Do Wish I Got On That Boat Day", whichever camp you are in...

Whoa Dang!  Many appolgies for not getting this up until today, a full week afterwards.

Congratulations to Bloomington’s Tree City! Also, thanks to all of the 2012 Hoosier competitors who came to Indy for this year’s State Championships.

Saturday’s event turned out to be fantastic. We had beautiful weather, great players, awesome competition, and best all, a hoot of a day with super friends.

This Championship gets better every year, and this year certainly lived up that standard. We could not do it without the generosity and our support of our family and friends. So, thanks to Lexie and Taylor for making breakfast. Thanks to Kristalynn and Christin for lunch. Thanks to Jasmine for making that great pie. Thanks to who ever made that super delicious oatmeal-caramel glob in the Zip-lock container. Thanks to Chris Graven of CG Homes for getting our courts built in time. Thanks to the two from Muncie for bringing and personally handing out your scrumptious cookies. Thanks you Zachary the Food Truck Guy for coming out (I hope you had a great day too). Thanks to everyone else who contributed by bringing food, supplies, and lending a helping hand. Thanks to Steve for making this year’s revolver mugs. Thanks to Indy Parks for giving us the courts. Thanks to Bryan for bringing and smoothly running the podium. Thanks Poose for bringing Arsenal Polo equipment and for making Nick extremely happy. Thank you, Satan, for keeping it real. Heeeeeeeeeeeeck Yeah!

One side is pretty much done.  A couple hinges, a few more screws, some anchor bolts along the center wall, and some paint; and this side will be complete.  Indy played their first game on it Sunday after a bunch of hours working since the early morn'.  Way to go Indy!
